Beaten Up With Nowhere to Go

[Well if this wasn't a sorry sight.

Kaitou was stumbling along, holding a wounded shoulder as he was making his way to the only people who he trusted to get him help. And with a groan, he collapsed in the front of Myodoun Academy, face first on the ground.

It wasn't long till students started noticing this, and Kaitou groaned as he tried to get up. He was also clutching onto a familiar looking cooler with a shrill elephant-like miniature sound trumpeting from inside.

With a heave, he looked up at the nearest student, biting out,] Call your student body president... and get me to the infirmary...

[Someone help? Looks like he got severely thrashed again.]

[And Tsubomi takes notice of the craziness going on... then spots who they were surrounding and gawks.]

[And she's quick to reach his side.] Someone go get help, please!

[Well at least she was here. It wasn't like he couldn't rely on the whole of Yuri's team to help him out of a jam, right?]

Pissed off the wrong enemy. Ayakashi, your Super Sentai neighborhood enemies, one of them stole my Driver.

I could use help getting it back. It's got my cards too, so the damn thing can summon kaijin if it wants.

[Word does eventually get to the horribly busy student council president, and Itsuki makes her way to the infirmary, waiting, a darkness covering the halls wherever she walks as she fights not to let her temper get the better of her. When Kaitou finally is dragged - by Tsubomi or otherwise - to her, she levels a sharp glare at him, barely suppressing a twitch of her eyebrow.]

Hi, Kaitou. I'm glad you came to visit, though the timing could use some work. We'll see if I can get you at least a little patched up; I don't want you bleeding all over my floors, we've got enough to do as it is. In the meantime, tell me what the hell happened to you, or I'm going to be very angry, considering I don't know if you let whatever did this to you follow you here.

[Ideally nobody's around to hear this, but Itsuki's not too careful to let other people overhear - compared to her other secret, this one's not so bad.]

[Still, there was no argument to be broked so he sighed a little.] It all started with taking an Origami from the Samurai Sentai Shinkenger...

The chase was easy enough, but when I transformed to fight Genta, an Ayakashi appeared. I had him on the ropes before I got too close to him. He took... [And he scowled at this] my DiendDriver and shot me with it. And then when Genta protected me, he shot both of us.

I barely escaped, managed to use what remained of my power to escape to this part of the world. That's where Tsubomi found me on the ground.

Gee, Kaitou, I wonder why. Maybe you're walking into this school, which is my domain, injured by an at-the-time-unknown enemy. For all I know there's someone walking in behind you with a weapon that's just gained access to several hundred hostages. I don't mind helping you, but please understand where I'm coming from.

[She sighs, shaking her head and putting a hand on her hip.]

You stole from the Shinkenger, and inadvertently got shot. I'm not going to say you deserved it, but it's certainly punishment for slights dealt. I am glad someone was looking out for you, though.

I'm worried, though... without your DiendDriver, you're pretty much stuck, right? No powers, no worldhop, nothing. So... where were you planning to stay while you worked out a plan?

To be fair, I don't think the Ayakashi that was sicced on us was THAT smart. But there's a lot of unknown threats. Hopefully Tsukasa can get my DiendDriver back. And we were clear across in Tokyo, so I think we're safe.

I have no powers... so I was wondering if I could bum a room from you for a little bit. I know Tsubomi and Erika don't have spare rooms, and it'd be awkward for Yuri to house me. I could just camp out in the corner of your place for a bit...

[She wants to hit him. There are just too many things he took for granted this time. But it's not sporting to hit a man while he's down; she'll save it for later. Settling for a worried expression, she starts to rummage through the drawers for antiseptic and bandages, her back to Kaitou.]

I sure hope he can. Without your DiendDriver, your little mission - not to mentioned your crime sprees - are dead in the water. And there's a nonzero chance you'll follow soon after. Tokyo's far from here, but not that far.

Anyway, if I didn't already know how you knew what their homes looked like, I'd remind Tsubomi and Erika to lock their windows at night. As it stands, you're right on all counts, and I can't just leave you here... okay. I'll see what I can do. But you're not sleeping on the lawn, it'll raise too many questions. There's probably an empty room somewhere I can borrow for a little bit.

I've been better, since I got shot with my own gun it doesn't hurt as much.

It was taken from me, ripped right out of my hands and he turned it on me. It wasn't my most shining moment.

[Word travels quickly in Kibogahana, so it doesn't take long at all for Yuri to hear about how someone showed wounded at the school's doorsteps. A year ago, her first instinct would have been to assume that it was related to a Desertrian attack. But now, she knows better.

She calmly excuses herself from class and heads over to the middle school branch of the academy. During her walk there, she appears to be her normal self; distant, but not unfriendly. The second she enters the infirmary and sees who's there, however, her entire demeanor changes. Good god, did the temperature suddenly drop?]

What did you do? ['This time' goes unsaid, but it is very much implied.]

[Seeing she was unwilling to broke an argument, Kaitou sighed deeply.]

It was a treasure obtaining gone wrong. I got my DiendDriver taken from me, and I got shot with it too. It wasn't fun at all. There's a Ayakashi out there wielding my gun now, and using all of its powers.

[Thankfully Yuri is ever patient and very much used to Kaitou's shit, so she actually does wait until he's finished speaking.]

Your DiendDriver got... [Wow, no, that is... not good. She's the only one that's allowed to steal that, okay? She sighs.] You certainly have gotten yourself into a fine mess again.

Don't I know it. I was debating on going to Tsukasa's place but he would just pile a debt on me. So I came here instead, with the last of my abilities. I'm just powerless right now to take my weapon back.

[Damn right she's the only one allowed to take it.]

I suppose that makes sense. I can't exactly blame you for showing up like this. [Well... she can. But she won't.] Do try not to scare half the student body next time, though. [Because there will be a next time. Let's not even pretend otherwise, she knows how this goes, even if she hopes she's wrong. There will definitely be a next time.]
